Providing eight Z-Wave controllable relays, this Z-Wave product can be used to switch low voltage loads such as sprinkler valves, low voltage patio lights, speakers, etc. Each relay has one  “Form C” set of contacts. This unit can be powered by a "wall wort" plugin power supply or from 24vac. Strapping options can connect the contacts of each relay to a common 24vac power bus to simplify installation. Technically it is classified as a multi-instance binary switch and can be controlled by controller that supports this type of device. Older handheld Z-Wave controllers will only be able to operate the first relay. In addition to the relays, the device also contains two inputs.
